The Wrong Bus by Truong Vinh Son

Last week, I went to Dong Ha City with some friends. We went by bus and we wanted to go to the supermarket. But it was already lunchtime, and we had been feeling very hungry. So Bach, my friend, said, “ After getting off the bus, we can eat near the supermarket”. We agreed with his opinion.

At first, we were very upset because we were hungry and the weather was very hot. We had been waiting for the bus for 30 minutes before it came. The bus we needed was number 19. Then we boarded bus number 29. Ten minutes later, we knew we got on the wrong bus.

We were very alarmed about this. We asked the driver for the destination of this bus. He told that its destination was a hospital. We had to get off the bus and we waited for another one. The weather became rainy and it was windy. We took shelter from the rain under the bus stop.

Luckily, bus number 20 approached. Its driver said he was going to the supermarket. We were very happy. I thought It was an interesting trip.

William McRaven is an admiral in the United States Navy and he has some good ideas about how to do this. He says don’t be afraid to try new things that are difficult. Also, he says never give up, never quit when something is difficult. Many people agree that these are very good ideas.  But, Admiral McRaven also has another idea. His idea is very different. He says that you must make your bed every morning to change the world. He gives two reasons for this. First, after you make your bed you will want to do more work, and then more work … and then more work. This is important because you must do lots of work when you want to change the world. Second, sometimes work or school is not easy and you will feel bad – but when you come home and see a beautiful bed, you will feel happy. Then, when you are happy, you will not be afraid to try difficult thing...
